HAPPY HALLOWEEN AND BLESSED SAMHAIN!

*meouw*

recipe: scary peppers for halloween

i hollowed out a few peppers and kept the caps whole. then i filled them with noodle salad- using spaghetti!

here's the recipe for the noodle salad (we're having a party so it's not vegetarian, but it could easily be changed to be so):

250g spaghetti
1 can of peas and carrots
1 pickled cucumber
200g cheese (seasoned tofu would work, too)
200g turkey sausage (you could use mushrooms instead)
200ml yoghurt salad dressing (or any other sort of salad dressing you like)

cook the spaghetti according to instructions. at the same time cut all the other ingredients into very small pieces. let spaghetti cool off after cooking and then mix everything.

my hair and body care

well, my hair is a story of it's own. i used to have full, long hair- now it's rather thin. i'm constantly looking for ways to make it appear fuller without teasing it or using an overload of chemicals. in the past i have tried these things- none of which are organic or irritant-free. they might make my hair look shiny and fluffy, but they make my scalp itch very badly...

i had a hell of a time trying to find organic products that work and don't irritate my scalp. here's what i've got so far:

a shampoo by care nature (organic brand of REWE and produced locally). a conditioner for thin hair by alverde (organic brand of DM) and a deep conditioner by alterra (organic brand of Rossmann) which i use once a week. and then there's big by lush - i love it! it smells great, makes my hair look fluffy and is irritant-free. i only use it once a week, though. i also use a paddle brush that has boar bristles added to the usual ones to get rid of frizziness.

as for the rest of my body- my skin isn't very demanding and i mainly chose stuff by the scent:

left to right: two shower gels by alverde and alterra (plus several lush and lush-type soapbars - that merit a separate entry), my beloved lush karma kream and two other body lotions by alverde and alterra. all of these things are organic and irritant-free!

btw, if you're interested in extra info on the stuff like if it's organic or vegan or whatnot - just leave me a comment below!

my skin care routine...

...plus reviews of several organic products i have been using.

old routine (during summer):

eye make up remover
balea soft&care belebende reinigungstücher
i'm very happy with these as they remove even waterproof make up and don't irritate my eyes plus they are very handy. i have yet to find an organic equivalent, though.

cleanser
lush fresh farmacy
i'm not convinced. it might have been one of the reasons for my skin to go blotchy! plus it smells funny...

toner
alverde clear gesichtstonic heilerde
everybody seems to be over the moon about this, but i didn't like it. it smells really earthy and not in a good way, plus you have crumbly residue on your face once you're done.

day cream
alverde aqua mattierende tagescreme 3in1 perle
according to codecheck.info there's some nasty stuff in there and i didn't like it anyways.

night cream
alverde anti-aging vitamin-nachtcreme gojibeere
way too rich for my mixed skin. if you have dry skin, you might like to try it. it has goji berries in it ;)

new routine (during fall and winter):

eye make up remover stayed the same (nothing else i even CAN use due to my overly sensitive eyes :/)

cleanser
neutrogena visibly clear pink grapefruit tägliches waschgel
LOVE it! very refreshing and it smells SO nice :) not organic and quite expensive, though.

toner
balea pflegendes gesichtswasser
does NOT contain alcohol and i like the smell of it. yet again it's not organic, though...

day cream & night cream
alterra tagescreme/nachtcreme pfirsich
smells lovely - of peach :) it's refreshing and moisturizing and i recommend it to anyone with normal skin.

fashion, beauty, lifestyle - MY way!

welcome to my third blog (yes, i'm THAT crazy). this one is about fashion, beauty and lifestyle how i see them.
i don't go with fashion trends just because - i pick out what i like and what i feel comfortable with. i used to be goth, so most of my wardrobe still is black, purple and burgundy. i prefer skirts to jeans, but am undecided on flats versus heels. check in here for OOTD and haul posts...
beauty of me is mostly about finding organic products that are irritant-free. that's a given?! not really! you wouldn't believe how many organic cosmetics products aren't irritant-free and vice versa. i tend to look for drugstore brand products for everyday life and high end stuff for special occasions. i'm also very scent oriented when it comes to choosing cosmetics. check in for reviews and tips (especially if you are into organic products)...
lifestyle for me is mostly cooking and baking using organic produce. i'm not vegetarian or even vegan, but i prefer not to eat meat and if i do it's mostly fish or chicken. when it comes to baking i LOVE cupcakes - it's like edible crafting :P check in for recipes...
